In Argentina’s December 2023 elections, almost 80% of all 16- to 24-year-old voters supported Javier Milei – an exceptionally high share, especially given his rather unconventional economic stance: advocating for immediate fiscal austerity (“short-term pain”) in exchange for future relief through lower inflation. As team voTUM, we are dedicated to exploring what factors influence individuals' wishes regarding fiscal policy. Specifically, we want to explore how information about Argentina’s young voters’ choices might influence the views of similarly aged individuals in Europe. We focus on the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, as both countries have recently held parliamentary elections in October 2025, meaning that young people there are likely to be more politically engaged.
