TUM Skills Center - an iniciative of "TALENTE SPENDEN"

Veranstaltung |

Since 2014, the recipients of the Deutschlandstipendium at TUM have been volunteering for the benefit of society in an organized way through their group "Talente Spenden". With many volunteers, they are involved in various projects for our fellow human beings and nature. A brand new project is the "TUM Skills Center", which was initiated by Monica Déchène (TUMJA scholarship holder Class 2020) and now invites people to join in.

You already are, or want to become a master of knitting, the best sushi chef, a chess champion, or the lord of rhetoric? Your friends always ask you how you bake these delicious cakes and your colleagues are jealous of your home-grown tomatoes?

Then why not share your exceptional skill(s) with others and teach them how to become as excellent as you are? Or are you the person who is standing on the other side of the fence, looking with watery eyes, nose flattened, at all those people doing handstands, knitting and dancing?

Then why not learn an extraordinary skill from other students and improve yourself until you become as outstanding as they are?

You may now think, you already have countless social media accounts with all those nicknames and passwords (which you mostly lost track of), and you don't really see the point in signing up for yet another platform. Besides, wouldn't it be much easier to simply watch a TouYube video?

NO, it wouldn’t! You will not find another platform like ours. No fee, no advertisement, and you do not have to register for it, you already are!

The TUM Skills Center is embedded in Moodle – so you can simply visit our Moodle page and either experience the joy of learning the stuff that really matters or prepare your own video if your skill is still missing!

Currently, the TUM Skills Center is still a work in progress. In order to provide you with the excellence TUM is known for, we would very much appreciate it if you could access our MindMap and brainstorm which skills you would like to learn or are interested to offer. If you should decide to share a skill of yours with the wide world of TUM, then of course you can count on our help. Moreover, it is completely up to you how exactly you present the content you want to teach – (almost) anything goes!

Besides the fame, the love letters and thank-you mails, you will help people to improve and grow! Couldn’t there be something better?!

  • Of course you will also get a certificate which you can hang over your bed.

To watch the actual content visit our Skills Center page on Moodle and follow us on Instagram!

If you have any question, do not hesitate to ask:  tumskillscenter@ja.tum.de

We are happy to hear from you!
