Panel discussion: "Doctorate at TUM – an option for me?"

On May 24, TUM master’s students are cordially invited to join the panel discussion organized by TUM Graduate School together with the team of TUM: Junge Akademie on the subject "Doctorate at TUM – an option for me?"

Join us for a live exchange with our panelists Graduate Dean Prof. Hans-Joachim Bungartz, Prof. Cathleen Zeymer, industry representative Carl Ebbinghaus (TUMJA alumnus #class13 / BMW) and doctoral candidate Kathrin Schmalzl (TUMJA scholarship holder #class22) on various questions about doing your doctorate, among others: 

  • Should I pursue a doctorate?
  • Is a doctorate important for planning my career? 
  • What should I consider when planning for a doctorate? 
  • What is important when contacting a potential supervisors? 
  • What are supervisors looking for when they select doctoral candidates? 

The session will be moderated by the TUMJA members Monica Déchène (#class20) and Til Hagendorn (#class22). Following the discussion, there will be time for questions from the audience as well as networking opportunities.

The event will be held on site with a limited number of participants. Furthermore, the event will also be streamed online. If the coronavirus/COVID situation requires it, the event will be exclusively online.
