Project:

zusammen.sammeln was a team of students in the project year 2014/15 of the program TUM: Junge Akademie, which was committed to supporting social projects within the umbrella topic “Campus of the Future”.

Due to a lack of regular income, only a few students were able to financially support charitable organizations regularly or with a larger amount of money. To enable donations that were suitable for students, characterized by transparency and co-determination, we created a social crowdfunding donation system. The term social crowdfunding described the financing of social projects by means of micro-donations, which was especially fitting for students' needs due to little effort for the individual and integration into the university environment. This was why the project group zusammen.sammeln concentrated on micro-donations in university daily life.

After an intense scientific analysis of the current donation situation at the TU München using surveys, two pilot projects started at the beginning of the summer term 2015. On the one hand, the introduction of a deposit bottle donating system, and on the other hand, the acceptance of a charity-dish in cooperation with the Studentenwerk München was tested. After successful implementation in the pilot phase, we hoped to establish both projects long-term at the TU München.

In conclusion, the aim of the project zusammen.sammeln was to build up a financing system for social projects on the basis of scientific analysis. By using simple micro-donations, we wanted to raise the willingness to donate and to integrate as many students and employees as possible. Every member of the TUM family should have had the possibility to do some lasting good without great effort!
