To document the internationality of the virtual campus run, we have created a world map on the "Padlet" platform. All participants can enter the location from which they will participate in the Campus Run on the map.

In order to increase motivation and team spirit, it is also possible to find other runners on the Padlet with whom one can complete the campus run. In order to form a team, three different "subpadlets" were created for each location: Munich, Germany (not Munich), and International. In these three categories, it is possible to network with other runners and find a common starting point.

All runners from the TUM exclusively can participate:

  • Students,
  • Staff from science and administration,
  • and of course all alumni of the TUM – worldwide.

Not only ambitious people who want to break the time records of previous years are invited but also those who simply want to enjoy physical activity.

Participation is not possible without a concrete connection to the TUM network – a TUM ID is required for registration.

The goal in all four challenges is to complete the 11 km the fastest and compete with the winners from 2019 to win the challenge cup in one of the four categories! (In 2020, the challenges were not scored).

In addition to the Chair Challenge, there is also a Male Professor and a Female Professor Challenge.

To participate, it is only necessary to select the correct participant type ("I am") when registering and to select professor in the drop-down menu when choosing the challenge.

All professors can participate in the Professor Challenge as well as support their chair in the Chair Challenge.

All those who want to participate in the Chair Challenge must make the correct selection in the drop-down menu under "Single registration" (Chair Challenge) and select the correct one for the registered group. To avoid confusion, a team member must register the team in advance under "Group registration." Afterward, the name will appear automatically in the selection.

It does not matter if you are the head of the department, work there or write your thesis. The main thing is that you agree as a team beforehand and register under one name.

At least 5 runners per team must be registered, and a maximum of 9 runners are allowed.

The times of the five fastest runners will be added up, resulting in the winning time for the fastest chair.

For larger teams (greater than or equal to 10), this means:

Before registering, think about which runners you have the best chance of winning the top spot and register accordingly (team name 1, team name 2, etc.).

Of course, the winning chair team consists of all team members and not only of the 5 fastest runners.

As TUMlinge Challenge, all teams will start (11 km) that are not a chair team, e.g. those, who

  • belong to the student organizations/initiatives/departments of the TUM (IKOM, WARR, TUfast, Junge Akademie, Akaflug, Enactus, CDTM, etc.) or
  • belong to staff members from the administration and central institutions (University Library, University Management, International Center, Hotline, Graduate School, Faculty Administration, Staff Council, etc.).

A minimum of 5 runners per team must be registered, a maximum of 9 runners are allowed.

The times of the five fastest runners will be added together, resulting in the winning time for the fastest TUMlinge team over the 11 km.

For larger teams (greater than/equal to 10) this means:

Before registering, consider with which runners you have the greatest chance of a top place and register accordingly (team name 1, team name 2, etc.).

Of course, the winning TUMlinge team will consist of all team members and not just the 5 fastest runners.

All other students, employees, or alumni of TUM can form a team with at least five participants (e.g., dormitory teams, alumni company teams, or simply a motley crew) and run the 5.5 and 11 km course.

All those who wish to participate in the team classification over the 5.5 km must make the correct selection (5.5 km team classification) in the drop-down menu in the "Single Registration" and select the correct pre-registered group. To avoid confusion, a team member must pre-register the team under "Team registration." Afterward, the name will appear automatically in the selection.

A minimum of 5 runners must be registered per team and a maximum of 9 runners are allowed.

The times of the five fastest runners will be added up, resulting in the winning time for the fastest "5.5 km team".

For larger teams (greater/equal 10), this means:

Before registering, consider with which runners* you have the greatest chance of a top place and register accordingly (Team name 1, Team name 2, etc.).

Of course, the winning 5.5 km team will consist of all team members and not just the five fastest runners.

Of course it is not mandatory to run as a team or for a chair.

Each single person has the opportunity to compete as an individual runner. Simply select "no team" in the drop-down menu when asked “Are you member of a registered group?”

The registration can be made as an individual runner or as a group (min. 5 participants) via the WIKI form:

https://wiki.tum.de/x/zAWhHg

Registration opens on June 10, 2021 (noon) and closes on June 24, 2021 (midnight).

Notification

An infinite number of registrations can be accepted for the 5.5 km and 11 km.

It goes without saying that ONLY women may run in the women's category or men in the men's category!

We ask for your understanding that we do not offer a DIVERS category in order to be able to evaluate the athletic performance according to the body.

This run is organized free of charge and voluntarily by the fellows of TUM: Junge Akademie.

Please direct your inquires to campuslauf@tum.de or via our Facebook-Event.
