Welcome to the homepage of the Taskforce International. This taskforce is part of the TUM:Junge Akademie program and founded by students in January 2019.
In times of right-wing populism and isolation of countries, international organizations like the European Union face increasing challenges and even the prospect of failure. In this context, it is more important than ever to build transnational connections and build alliances with like-minded partners. We, the taskforce international, consider it our mission to bring more international aspects to the Junge Akademie in order to exchange, to create and to engage in a discourse.
For new scholarship-holders
You guys will have to choose a taskforce in which you will be a member for the duration of three semesters. So why not choose a taskforce in which you can personally contribute and be part in a community of motiated and highly engaged students with a common goal.
Do you wanted to create and contribute to international friendships and projects? Then your are perfectly right with us. You will get the chance to meet new people in our "spring-school" in March and get the opportunity to travel to our partner universities in other countries. You will get exclusive insights in the scientific work at TUM and abroad and can build up valuable networks. Help us to make our exchange program successful and help yourself to new friednships and skills.
Wether you feel poperly enthusiastic about becoming a member or still have some questions feel free to contact us via mail or personally.
We want to create an intercultural exchange amongst students from international universities and similar projects like TUM:Junge Akademie. During this exchange, we will give an interdisciplinary scientific insight in the work of the different TUM Campuses. The students will explore the fields of research at the TUM in different organized workshops, guided tours and playful challenges. Needless to say, there will be a leisure program, trips to cultural events and places of interest and tradition. Through this workshops we want to foster relationships and networks with international partner universities.
The duration of the program will be one week with a maximum number of ten to fifteen participants per university. The overall structure of the program will be similar to more traditional summer schools, with one central topic overarching the whole programm. The workshops are going to take place in groups and there will be at least one big tour around Munich. The students should have the possibility to propose ideas for events, tasks and improvement. We support a one-to-one-pairing, during the exchange, so the TUM-partner can help to look for an accommodation, bring the German language closer to the visitor and give insights to the German culture. This will be best for both students. The taskforce members will work on the implementation of the programm and the yet to be determinded theme for the exchange.
Currently we are developing our week-long program, finding an overarching theme for the presentations and workshops and developing it as a whole. We are also plaing the cultural aspects of our program, like visiting some museums or concerts, or possiblie even organising a hiking trip just outsoinde munich. Any suggestions (especially for march specific or lesser known cultural events) are always welcome. Additionaly we are in close contact with ICL and at the beginning of November, three taskforce members will join a small delegation of TUM to London. This is in order to meet with stakeholders and representatives of ICL and pitch and discuss the exchange program further. We hope this will form the basis of exciting exchanges and a long-lasting new cooperation.
We are of course open to other universities and partners for future projeects and would be happy to hear from you, if you would like to enter into a partnership with the TUM:Junge Akademie.
Who we are:
We are eight students of different study fields, who are fully motivated to build up networks with other international universities, which have similar projects like the TUM:Junge Akademie. Currently two taskforce members are abroad.

On 25th of April a delegation of the Imperial College London visited the TUM Campus in Garching. Three members of the taskforce International attended the meeting. We did a guidance through the entrepreneurship centre of TUM and the Makerspace. In a presentation, we explained our goals and the program. To foster the relationships, build a network and improve our work, Prof. Buitendijk, the vice provost for education, invited us to the college in London. With this visit we hope to find other students, who want to build up a common project so our exchange can start as soon as possible.
Addintionaly to ICL we also contacted ETH Zürich as a possible exchange partner and a taskforce member presented our idea to a smal delegation visiting TUM and TUM:JA. After a very positiv initial reaction towards our program ETH had to inform us, thta a common summer-school in march 2020 would not work with their semester times. We however hope, that there is still some posibility to create some common exchange in the future.
