Truth & Lies in the conflict area of economic processes: Team SchaschLeak
Advertising praised products in every imaginable way. Especially the large social networks had become powerful advertising platforms that placed advertisements with maximum profit orientation by analyzing user behavior.
We at Team SchaschLeak wanted to make users of social media aware of the high percentage of sponsored content in social networks. We also wanted to show ways to specifically recognize advertising. We primarily achieved this goal by evaluating original information campaigns. We had already designed our second poster series (see below) and we distributed it at universities and high schools in Munich. Moreover, we produced two videos on the topic. Furthermore, we developed a concept to educate children on advertisement on social media platforms and social media in general. Therefore, we held classes at different schools all around Munich. In these classes, children learned how to use social media responsibly and how to recognize advertisements.
